Message from Chairperson
Hello from Kobe, Japan
We are planning to hold "The 24th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology" at Kobe Portopia Hotel for 2 days on October 20 th and 21 st , 2018. The theme of this annual meeting is "motto hiroku motto fukaku (wider and deeper) ". This expresses our desire to continue to provide safe and comfortable anesthesia to children by understanding and communicating pediatric anesthesia and related areas widely and deeply.
We are currently preparing the meeting with cooperation of many people now. We hope to encourage active discussion and exchange through sessions such as lectures by experts, symposiums, hands-on seminars, and presentations from our members.
Kobe has long prospered as a base of trade with foreign countries for a long time. After the opening of the Port of Kobe in the 19th century, the development of modern urban infrastructure was promoted, and industries such as shipbuilding, spinning industry and steelmaking developed. In addition, foreign cultures filled with exoticism grew through foreign settlements. In January 1995, Kobe suffered extensive damage due to the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but it has become a beautiful international port city again after rebuilding through sustained efforts since that time.
The Japanese Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology aims to contribute widely to pediatric medicine by aiming at advancing and disseminating pediatric anesthesia, perioperative management, intensive care and emergency medicine. We would like to do our best in preparing the meeting so that everyone can enjoy the conference. We look forward to meeting you all in Kobe.
Best Regards,
- Tetsuro Kagawa, M.D.
